Since I posted!
Too long. But it has been a really great month.
First amazing event: The kids started school and are LOVING it! Tom, Katie & Allison are enjoying their respective schools What a blessing. Katie is mellowing out and we are continuing to work with her to level out her tantrums. She has come so far in a few months. Tom is loving first grade. His teacher is challenging him, and he thrives in her care. As for Allison, this example sums it up: on the second day of her school, this is our dialog:
Allison: Mommy, this is my NEW school
Me: It sure is!
Allison: Mommy, I LOVE my new school!!!

Second amazing event: I have raised the $2300 I needed to raise in order to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day in October. I am amazed that it happened. I am floored by the generosity of everyone I have encountered in this journey. Both family and friends, and those I don't know have surprised me with their generosity. The stories that people have shared with me have renewed my optimism and my commitment to walk for all the women who deserved a lifetime, but didn't get it.
Third amazing event: I am enjoying school. I love my students, I love my classes. I have one really challenging group of kids, but I recognize that they are in my world to make me a better teacher. They are forcing me to re-evaluate what I do in my classroom, and while that may be difficult, it is SO important and necessary. I know at the end of the semester that they will be my favorites. They already have a special place in my heart, even though they make me crazy.
