I hate it when...

One of my babies is sick. I know, Allison isn't a baby anymore, she is a full-fledged, sentence speaking, self-dressing, tantrum throwing toddler, but she (and Tom and Katie) will ALWAYS be my baby.

This morning Mike came in to the kitchen to inform me that sometime last night, Allison had vomited in her bed. She was sitting in a bath and I ran in to bathe and soothe her. Quick temperature check showed she a slight fever. Once she was dried off and in some clothes, I brought her into the kitchen. She promptly stated she wanted milk, yogurt and strawberries. I said, "No." How about juice? She said, "No." Here is how the rest of the conversation went:

Me - Toast?
Allison - No.
Me - Bagel?
Allison - No.
Me - Gatorade?
Allison - (give you three guesses and the first two don't count).....No.

I started back at the top of the list again. After 3 or 4 go 'rounds, she decides on toast. And doesn't eat it.

Well, my day was still busy, despite having a toddler in tow. I had my 4 mile walk with Kathy this morning. Allison was happy to be in the stroller along with her juice and crackers (which she did eat). Next was on to see Stu Cohen. That took about 40 minutes, with Allison happily playing and reading/talking the entire time, which was fine.

Back home where Allison decided Cheerios and popcorn was what she wanted to eat. I supplemented the food with some ibuprofen since her fever hadn't come down yet. She ate it all and then asked for a banana. She got that, too.

I put her down for her nap, and 3 hours later, she wakes up burning up, her fever has increased slightly and now she won't eat anything. She will, however, drink ice cold juice. She spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on my lap. When she got too warm, she would sit next to me and hold my hand.

I hate it when my kids are sick. Hopefully my little Ballerella will be better tomorrow.
